Pride with my natural and authentic self. Liberty in my own truth. Individualism by knowing myself deeply and how i feel and why. A vigorous and continual analysis of my environment including economics, psychology, personal motivations/goals and environmental science/nature.

A wry smile.

LaVey wrote that keeping a secret is more empowering than revealing one.

Pretty much how I would answer this question. It gave me just enough of a nudge to acknowledge I finally got myself back and that was fine. And then there's the knowledge there are other people with which I share some uncommon fundamentals which are vital to my worldview, always nice.

I have just recently found satanism and it has barely changed the way I interact with things in my everyday life. When I started to study it, by reading books such as The Satanic Bible, everything just fell into place. I get out of satanism self satisfaction knowing I can do "bad" things like "sins" and be justified because im simply indulging in my carnal desire. Im not saying I am able to stumble through life doing what I want whenever I want. Things do have a time and place but ever since I started to study satanism I have lost all guilt in my carnal desires

Satanism provided a framework around which I could hang all of my values, a way to bring everything together symbolically. If religions like Christianity confound believers in obfuscating symbols and metaphors, teasing the faithful with Truth inaccessible, Satanism utilizes the power of metaphors and symbolism to enlighten one regarding the metaphysical truth of our existence as one of materialism and carnality. At least, that's what I get out of it.

What am I getting out of being a Satanist?

A title that encompasses who and what I already had been and the life I had already been living, and a set of principles that gave me a higher sense of clarity and focus on and freedom with who I am and what I do to enjoy my life responsibly, creatively, and to the fullest while pursuing personal advancement.

I'd recommend this article by Warlock Leuthold that I personally think perfectly sums up an answer to your question: http://news.churchofsatan.com/post/145356786127/what-has-satanism-done-for-you-by-warlock-robert

Oh, you mean just being me?

Seriously though, never in my life have I found a book that codified my beliefs about the world around me better than the Satanic Bible; and never have I found a religion that is more real, raw, and sensible than Satanism.

What I am getting from being a Satanist is the pure joy that I can be myself, and that there exists a cabal of dynamic individuals who--ultimately--have the same goal in mind.

Nice and challenging one.
I've always been a deeply individualistic person.
I think satanism gave me some useful tools to make my philosophy work in a social contest.
Big deal.

I,too, first came across the writings of Magister Rose soon after discovering and exploring the "inter-webs".

Granted, I'd been aware of the Church of Satan for some time at that point. I just didn't have a clue that it had grown into a world-wide membership and wasn't still simply limited to 1960-70's San Francisco.

Man, was I wrong! grin

How could I NOT join after having read The Satanic Bible, The Satanic Rituals and The Satanic Witch to tatters and finding out that The Church of Satan was alive, well and thriving!?

I have interacted online and in person with several amazing fellow CoS members over the years.

What have I gotten out of it?

What am I getting out of being a Satanist?

I just found the literature appealing and the tongue in cheek fashion Lavey uses in his writing is astounding. I agree with some things and they just apply well to me. Other things still are not clear now but they unveil as I read more and more and contemplate. I adore animals and I love the creativity children have. The idea that we are our own god makes perfect sense. Enough said!

Satanism drives me to put passion and dedication into everything that which had meaning to me, which in turn allows me to get the most out of what i love.

More sex. No guilt.

There is more, but really Christianity really messes with natural sexuality.
