Yes, I've always been perturbed about how criminals are put on "suicide watch." Unless they have some important testimony to give, I say, let people off themselves. If a rapist or murderer hangs himself in his cell or is stabbed to death by his cellmate, I certainly consider that justice being served. And, perhaps they should just consider passing a law stating that the prison cannot be sued for the individual actions of the inmates in this regard, to prevent some idiot from attempting suicide, failing, and then suing his guards for not trying harder to stop him.
