Poor North Carolina. Such a beautiful state which has to suffer bordering this new state of mediocrity.
I actually have neighbors who are Christians that are moving there. I did not inquire as to why they are moving, but this is an interesting twist.
The funny thing is, my neighbors said they would miss my cheerfulness. Oh, if they only knew!

Of course, they breed like rabbits, so they'd quickly overpopulate the state and would be living in poverty. They'd probably like that, though. The Christians do love to suffer for their cranky Jehovah.
Ha! That is true. Perhaps we could help accomodate their journey, a la "trail of tears". Then, when they arrived at the end of their pilgrimmage, they would actually have a reason to feel persecuted.
As far as the overpopulation is concerned... I envision the nation's first state-wide trailer park, appropriately titled: "New Jerusalem".

Some trailers are nice, practical, low-overhead solutions for modern living.
I was thinking something more along the lines of "shanty town."
I see acres and acres of wet, mouldering cardboard...
They can even have cute little leper villages like back in Jesus' heyday.

I don’t quite believe it will be a "hooverville."
Well, not at first. First it will be all white picket fences and calico dresses with the doilie collars.

Overpopulation is an issue but most Xtians are hypocrites. They wouldn’t want to live under Puritan Government with no booze or porn. Most will like the idea at first but as things pan out (if they do) they will see it as to strict. We’ll see who is the most “Christian” when the time comes.
Most Christians are Christian in name only. They'd be whatever everyone else was. Those types wouldn't tolerate a land without modern vices. But this Carolina secession seems more geared toward very serious zealots. Zealots seem to be fully capable of maintaining their bland brand of insanity for several generations. Just look at the Amish. And the Taliban. Tomato, Tomahto.

In light of the recent Supreme Court decision regarding personal property rights I propose a mass exodus of land developers to SC to seize their new homes and put up hotels.

I saw that story on the national news the other night. I don't normally tune it to keep MISinformed, but it was on while I was eating dinner, and well, I was busy eating and not channel surfing. If I picked up the remote I'd have to not be picking up my food and eating it.
They sensationalized it as always. The "voice" as the program was preparing to cut to commercial stated something to the effect of, "Christians wanting to secede from the union!!!" They make it sound like all Hell is breaking loose, when in reality it's a fucking group of families somewhere in South Carolina who are all bible thumpers. The location doesn't surprise me one single bit seeing as how that's where the BoJo's are. Yeah, the BoJo's, remember them? The Bob Jones University where there was a big stink several years ago about them not allowing interracial dating. At first they claimed they were right in God's eyes. Then they changed their policies after the media attacked them relentlessly. At that point, they were "disarming Satan". I'm not to far from the South Carolina border of Georgia. I wouldn't be surprised if next time I drove up there to buy fireworks, the state welcome sign said "WELCOME TO SOUTH CAROLINA, THE RELIGIOUS FRUIT LOOP STATE"

So they want to move thousands of Xtians to S.C. and secede from the Union. I think it’s a great idea. It will put them in one place out of my way and I’ll avoid going there at all cost. Looks like the Palmetto State will be the Jesus State. Halleluiah!
I say someone should send them smallpox laden blankets to keep themselves warm on the journey there.

I’m going to start recommending christianexodus.org to all the crazy christians I meet and maybe to a few of the more annoying regular variety. Only by helping spread the word will this come true! I would also like it if the federal government built a HUGE electric fence around South Carolina, to insure no illegal immigrants from the nation of New Jerusalem try to come to America to find work. The day can't come soon enough...

Today's Tampa Tribune Newspaper in the section "Nation/World Part2' on page 16 has an article about it. The article makes it seem like perhaps it is a good motive and reason for Conservative Xtian's. Tampa/Hillsborough county is in political struggle between Xtian conservatives and the rest of Tampa. Rhonda Storm the Coutny Commissioner opposes any county funding for Planned Parenthood (just one example). Locals disagree with her but she has the seat.
Xtians love to force their children to be their breeders. Case in point. I was raped by Xtian at 17 and became pregnant. My parents were happy about it and wanted to force a marriage. They forced me by physical force to birth and raise my child as a single parent. Evidence, none. Today they, rapist and church they are of is still free from prison. I am forced to pay child support to rapist because he now has custody. Supposedly I was the evil whore and he the good Xtian adult male... This is their inherent family value(s)!

Living as an atheist--or any other religion/belief--in South Carolina besides Christianity is tough. I just became a member today and just heard about this. Dr. Anton LaVey wrote in the pentagonal revisionism: a five-point program that if we taxed every church in the United States that we could wipe out the national debt. The church density in rural South Carolina is unbelieveable! Some people even turn their houses into mini-churches. If you taxed every church in South Carolina, you could probably wipe out the national debt with just the one state. South Carolina is a hard state to live in for non-christians. People tell you that your never going to "heaven" and that you will burn in "hell." Of course, they also tell you that your way of life is wrong. While South Carolina may seem like the ideal spot for a Christian exodus, this would make non-christians turn into an underground society at best. This is just very scary and I am against this exodus occuring and I am willing to do whatever needs to be done to stop this.

What is it with the United States Of America and it's fundamental religionism? There is nothing like that in either Finland or the UK...

What is it with the United States Of America and it's fundamental religionism? There is nothing like that in either Finland or the UK... There are fundamentalists in every corner of the world. Don't tell me you don't have Christian freaks over there! The problem is the religious nuts here are making a lot of noise lately and get a lot of press attention. This makes it look for people in other countries like all Americans are obsessed with Jesus and going to church. Actually, it’s a minority (a very loud one) that is like that. The current political environment gives them the opportunity to make even more noise than before. But as a normal rule, most Americans go about their lives normally (even most Christians) and are more busy with the acquisition of the almighty dollar than tickets to heavenly paradise. Even with the recent "Christian Renaissance", the United States stills the Satanic Capitol on the world.

Let's see... they migrated to find more food sources because they ran out of them... a meteor blocked out the sun and they froze to death because the sun couldn't warm their coldblooded hearts.
Doesn't sound like their fault. I bet dinosaurs were smarter than we were! Haven't you seen the show Dinosaurs? They were our equals!

Dearest Tiberia, I have read many of your posts and they are thoughtful and intelligent. In my personal oppinion, I do not feel you need to worry about being a shit-disturber.
Now, the poster you responded to - now THAT is a different story.
Again, just my personal opinion.

The next time you sign on to this message board, don't read through the posts in order. Set it up so that your view is "threaded" and then pick a topic (like this one) and only read the initial post. Then scan down to a distant post on the thread and read it next. For example, this thread started out talking about fundamentalist Christians moving to a specific state in the South and ended up talking about whether dinosaurs were superior to human beings! Just try a few of these and jot them down. At your next party dig them out and see if anyone can go in a logical fashion from the initial subject to the end post.
