A Power Seeker in my eyes is a person that utilizes self-restraint
in order to achieve power, of any kind. (For instance, physical
practice in order to maintain the body strong and attractive,
Even if he doesn't enjoy the actual workout or "Doesn't feel
like it right now")
He seeks power in improving his looks, charisma, knowledge
and influencing the people around him.

An indulger is a person that does what he wants, as long as
he doesn't harm himself in his indulgences.

I've seen these people prior to even knowing Satanism exists.

Both strike me as different types of Satanists (Only the
examples above are lacking the dogma and realization that
was provided by TSB).

And even though pride should drive you to be a natural
power seeker, not all invest in seeking power to their fullest.

So, what are you? a Power Seeker or an Indulger?
(No black&white definition, just what you feel yourself
closer to...)

It seems to me the line you've drawn between these two types of people is unnecessarily artificial. Satanism is about indulgence over abstinance. If seeking power isn't an indulgence, then whats the point, unless the power one seeks allows one to pursue his indulgences? So in answer to your question, I'm an indulger, and always will be. If I gain power through this, then so be it, if not, no matter.

Indulgence is power!

Both, but not without responsibility.

Also, those who seek power just for the sake of power are often, well, powerless. I think it's a matter of realizing what powers you already have and utilizing them to their fullest.

Or to quote Doctor LaVey, " Them that has gets. Until one has he'll never get ".

They are doomed because they cannot even glimpse beyond the construct that their masters have put into place. Their masters are doomed because they believe in the construct they created.

If I understood you all, then this sentence should answer my
own question. Correct?

There are no "different types" of Satanist.

Why does one seek power, if not for the sake of indulgence?
How can one indulge, if one doesn't take the steps to put oneself in a position to do so consistently, safely, and with maximum intensity?

I think you've set up a false dichotomy here. There are different preferences among Satanists, which lead to different lifestyles. But there aren't different "types".

What good is power, if one cannot indulge???

What good is indulgence if one has no power???

I would say that I am equally both a power-seeker and an indulger. After I have conquered my objectives, I relax and enjoy myself. When I find that my pursuit of pleasure is making me weak, I step away and regain my strength. I try to retain some sense of balance in my worldly existence.

Too much of either of the examples that you cited can lead one to an unhappy state. If you are too openly powerful, and the people around you hate you because of it, is that not counter-productive? If you are too indulgent, and become tired, fat, and weak, is that not counter-productive as well?

I think it is important to find a working balance between self-restraint and indulgence. That is my take on this.

I would say i'm both at the same time. In your example you site someone who exercises to maintain their strength, even though they don't like the workout. Have you ever considered there are those of us who enjoy the workout and the results? I personally enjoy the endorphines that can be released by vigorous exercise just as much as I enjoy the strength that comes along with that workout. This also extends to most everything else I do also. The trip isn't only in the destination, its in the journey.

thats kinda funny, thats exactly what Ive been doing lately. Ive been pretty darn concerned with improving myself until I find some more long term goals to pursue. Ive been working out every day, more concerned with stregth than apperance (I look good anyways).

Ive always been really fascinated by people who have power. I love to have any kind of authority. So right now I am abstaining some for delayed pleasure, and thats ok with me. I still love my life and have a damn good time, I know I cant achieve career goals and such instantly..

One stupid post too many.

The 2 examples you used are the same Satanist.

He/she uses Lesser Magic to obtain his/her goals while indulging in whatever he/she finds stimulating and gratifying at the same time.
