Shem - ham - fo - rash. Being a transliteration, it is phonetic. As it's written like this in Hebrew: Yes, it reads right-to-left. That's quite easy to get used to, though. Omission of vowels is often countered by addition of dots and dashes and things, and there are conventions for that, but such is not traditional (being a modern addition, seemingly for the sake of ease of foreigners learning the language, although there is some eclesiastical use as well), nor needed, and I don't tend to bother with them.

You know that when that word is pronounced correctly the world is supposed to end. Great! The deepest occult secret revealed on the internet.

Weird. Never knew this thing 'till now.
It translates "The name of the interperted". ot "Name of the interperted".
Name - of/the - Interperted Shem - Ha - Meforash.
At least in modern day hebrew it means that.

That reminds me of the segment from Night Gallery entitled "Professor Peabody's Last Lesture".

[...] "Shemhamephorash"?
Also, the correct spelling is "Shemhamforash"
Not necessarily, as Linguascelesta pointed out, this is a Hebrew word and the English spelling is just a transliteration.
The Hebrew letter "Fey"* transliterates to "f", however, when translated, it is actually "ph" as in physician.
Well, looks like all those years of hebrew school actually came in usefull, afterall
* I don't think this is the correct spelling, but this is how the name of this letter sounds

You're killin me with this.....end of the world eh? Now I'm picturing that scene from Army of Darkness when he kept coughing the last words to try and avoid chaos when opening the Necronomicon.
