I remember my little girls first word. As clear as a bell she said "BUG!" and pointed at a wood louse! When she saw how happy it made us, she then pointed at me "BUG!" then at Mum "BUG!" then at the dog "BUG!" Their first words are one of those moments you treasure. My daughter is now 9, and can talk non-stop for about 3 hours without even pausing for breath! We were sharing a hotel room when she was about 6 and we'd had a busy day catching all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures at the sea side. I put her to bed and she lay there excitedly recounting the day's adventures, and fell asleep mid sentence. The next morning, she awoke, and carried on exactly where she'd left off the night before! Precious times.
congrats. even though i have not had the joy at this early stage in life to have one of my own, i do remember how happy it made me feel when my nephew first said "uncle shaun".
