Since today, everytime when I visit the forum, it's trying to connect to a website called free20.com. I don't know what kind of site it is, since my security settings won't allow it to load. After I click on the "OK" button, it tries to load again. And again. When going into a subforum of thread, it still tries to load the website.

I don't know if anyone else has the same problem, or if it's just my computer. I'm using Firefox 1.0.7.

Yeah that showed up for me as well. I also noticed that once you have logged into the message board my browser seems to load continuously, though does not do so at a subsection of the boards. I am using Mozilla 1.6 with current patches.

I have FF as well and I do not experience these issues.

Quite frankly it sounds like you have adware.

I don't believe it's adware. It happens to me too, and I did a total scan for spyware, adware, and viruses the other day when I noticed that the SatanNet homepage for whatever reason wanted me to install the Chinese language pack. It never happens on other sites or on the forum itself.

Also, I notice Magister Ventrue has removed the front page and it now leads directly to LttD.

Yes, this has been happening to me whenever I click on anything within the forum. I thought it might be my computer, but this is the only site that it happens on.

Found a temporary fix, for those using Mozilla just add the website www.free20.com to your cookie manager folder choose to block the site address, the address will still try to load the first time you come back to the board but the block will take and the board will not load the site over and over. Those using Firefox follow your browers suggestions for blocking websites. This seems to be a hacker thing attached to php message boards in general, after going to a few other boards this site pops up at those boards as well. The site will try to load once at each general area you go to on a message board. The failed to connect pop up box is a click generator, from a click pay website user. Best thing to do right now is block the address in the browser you are using so the box does not pop up. Don't worry other php board sites are seeing this site pop up as well.

Thank you for the suggestion, Jaylucif, it is working beautifully.

Great news, like I said earlier though the site will go ahead and try to load at each page you come to as it seems the site is embedded throughout the boards pages, though the failed to connect box should not pop up any more, hackers fun little monkeys they are. Also do not click the failed to connect box you are just generating a paid click to whomever started this, block this as an unwanted pop up site.

For Internet Explorer, click "Tools", then Internet Options, click the tab for "Security" then the zone for "Restricted Sites." Type in the address (www.free20.com) and add it to the list of restricted sites, and you're done.

Admin:

The affiliate of free20.com is using the name 'soauker'. Quite possibly that name could be reported and have the account shut down.

I was hoping to get away from this nuisance through LttD's safe page, but the problem exists there as well.

Edit: Strangly enough, the Emporium is the only site I can find under stewie.webminion.com that is not affected.

It would seem we are making some a pretty penny. The question is... who embedded the code?

From free20.com:
