Just a bit of curiosity here. As I was going through the literally thousands of posts that I've missed since my last visit, I notice that not all banned logins read as "Banned" anymore. Now I see "Idiot," "Dolt," and in one amusing case "Drug User."

A mod's whimsical decision, or is there actually method to this madness? I havn't searched for more (and then checked what the banned person actually said in thier stint) to see if they have any actual corrolation.

We assign titles at our own humor, influenced by outstanding stupidity on the users in question.

I must add my two cents to this one- I do happen to appreciate the titles created for these idiots that have been banned, as it gives a bit of a clue as to why they were made to leave rather than having to search through the posts and find out for myself. It also does tend to add a bit of humor to the boards!

Although, I would not bother searching through past posts to find out why someone is banned.

I know that the Moderators/Administrators ban them for a good reason and that is all I need to know. Everyone that is banned has proven disruptive and generally undesirable in various ways.

These little humorous comments lets someone know at a glance, what is what - and they're also great fun to read!

But what will you think when someone's title is "Richard Simmons"?

I don't know if I would really care to read the post that earned that particular label. of course, there might be someone out the in the ether who would take it as a compliment.

The first time I read "idiot" under a username I almost pissed myself! "Dolt" was a good one too.

My favorite is the guy that was so bad his name was turned pink . I'm trying to remember the actual titles, they were funny as hell. He either had a Richard Simmons avatar or his avatar was changed to Richard Simmons.

I still vaguley remember the one where the avatar of Einstein was changed to a pair of pink flip-flops and a title along the lines of "banned glamourgirl" or something were used. That was great.

Damn, I must have missed that one.

If I can remember a bit more detail about what the post was about, I may be able to pull it up for you, until then...

Yep, I remember "sickbones", who was turned to the pink-lettered "silktones". He had a huge banner for his heavy metal band he was obviously trying to promote, but the banner magically changed to Richard Simmons some how. His avatar was changed to a gay pride flag. The homophobic shit-disturber didn't understand why these things were happening to him. But one thread conversation went something like this:

Magister Rose: "OK, let me spell it out for you. You were never given permission to advertise here, so your advertising has been blocked."

silktones: "How do I get permission to advertise?"

Magister Rose: "You have to request it first."

silktones: "Oh. Can I advertise on the site?"

Magister Rose: "No."

silktones: May I have a banner?

Magister Rose: Go away.

Following that a few of us moderators had a little fun with him. We never actually banned him, by the way. He was technically free to continue posting using a pink name, the title "Dandy," a gay pride avatar, and a Richard Simmons banner, and a profile modified to be "fabulous!"

Needless to say, he left of his own accord.
