It has been brought to my attention that we have had Nigerian scam artists register on this site and PM users with the typical schtick.

If you receive a PM asking for personal information, offering to speak via email, or anything to do with Nigeria whatsoever, notify me or any moderator of the content of the message and the user who sent it.

Now back to your regular programming.

The warning is appreciated. It's hard to believe that people are still duped by these scams.

Why Nigerians are interested in religion (any religion).

I was told by a naïve Nigerian lady that any citizen appointed official representative of any religious sect or cult was entitled to a grant from their government.

Is that really where our aid-money is going?

I haven't had an e-mail from Africa asking for an investment for months. They were obviously planning to invade the forums.

I've even seen these guys reacting on marketplace adds on the internet. I wanted to sell some stuff and I got contacted by an Nigerian, if I could sent it to his nephew in Nigeria. Payment (twice the amount I asked for it) would follow. Yeah, sure.

I just got one of these right now. This is what he said:

I posted this because it is apparently quite a rash of it lately, not because I imagine anyone is not hip to the whole scam. I'd as soon mop up this shit, so everyone who gets this is asked to please notify moderators so we can ban them and cease the irritating shit in your inbox.

While I have not met with any type of scam or even been PM'd by anybody other than the usual members here, I do appreciate the heads up. Thank You.

ive just had some nigerian person post a comment in the guestbook on my dj website, saying hes a member of CoS and wanting to know more about me...
strange when everything you need to know is on my website...
