I don't know if I am the only one but this recent development whereby we are taken to the last post when I click in the subject header is really throwing me out.

I don't like it at all.

I've given it a while to see if I get used to it but I am afraid I can't. Every single time I wonder what's going on before I realise I am not reading the head post.

Isn't it possible to just go back to how it once was?

I haven't noticed any recent changes along these lines. For me, if there are no unread messages and I click on the subject, it drops me at the start of the thread. If there are unread posts, the same click takes me to the first unread one. (I use flat mode.) Works fine, and makes sense to me.

Not in threaded mode.

Even if I haven't read the head post it takes me to the last reply posted, and it doesn't make sense to me.

I know what you are talking about. Even in the flat mode it will take you to the first unread post. If it has been a while since anyone posted,(such as in an older thread brought back up) I find I have to go back to the first post and remind myself of what was said earlier.

It used to be, the original post would come up and you could click on the area that says jump to the first unread post. That worked well, I could skim the first post to see if I wanted to continue on with the thread. Oh well. I guess it would be very hard to please everyone.

Perhaps if there were an option in account settings like there is for the default to be flat mode or threaded mode.

I find it easiest to just scroll down to where it shows the page numbers and then click on “show all” after clicking on the thread subject, or I click on the “all” option that is in parenthesis in the box where the subject is (if there is more than one page to it). Then the whole thread shows up, starting at the beginning (in flat mode, which is my preference). No big deal to me.
