I find it contradictory that people who are their own gods (or their own Satan to be accurate) should need priests and hierarchy. Frankly I would think that they didnīt even want a community, let alone leaders. Could someone please point out a passage to read on this matter?

Strictly speaking, you're right on all accounts.

We don't need a Priesthood to get by. Those who join choose to enter into the hierarchy of the Church.

We also don't have a community. Since you ask for a passage to read, how about High Priest Gilmore's Myth of the Satanic Community, found on the CoS homepage?

1. Many misinterpret the meaning of one being one's own God. The brass tacks of it mean that you are responsible, exclusively, for your own life. No god to save, no devil to doom, you create your life and its all on you.

2. Read "The Myth of satanic Community" on the CoS website.

I like the essay very much. I now understand that Satanist are a movement but not a community in the traditional sense.

I still find the idea of a church without a community both strange and interesting. Iīm used to the idea of a priest as a leader, as the guy who tells his herd how to interpret the writings and since Satanist do not believe in this herding system, then what the fuck does a Satanic priest do?

Thank you MagistraNadramia. I like tricksters.

I have already read what is said about priesthood in the informational pack but is that all? Any further suggestions of readings about the priestīs role within the CoS?

Somehow, I don't think you've actually followed my instructions. And this isn't a trick.

Thank you for your patience MagistraNadramia. The "Membersīlinks like Bloodfire, Black Rose tattoo and body piercing, Terry "Horns" Erwin???

If websites like these are supposed to explain the priestīs role within the CoS, one must assume that the priestīs role is mainly to mind his own business and do whatever pleases him most???

I was curious before but now I donīt want to go to work today.
