I just want to know what makes you happy/brings you happiness? and/or What is that something that can really make your day? Music, a certain movie, indulging in a vice, humor, what? I know watching a cat do that attack cat-boxing thing makes my day.

Chocolate, Thai food, a nice big bottle of Bailey's and a hell of a good book.
And a nice long chat on the phone with one of my bestfriends in America. She always makes me smile.

I had a lecturer in philosophy once who claimed that the cost of happiness was usually another's sorrow. Personally I think the pursuit of happiness is just another spiritual pipe dream and our time could be much better spent in more arduous ventures.

That picture made me happy. I love little kittens. Thankyou Felstorm.
Aside from that : good films, books, music, art and food; especially beautiful weather, be it violent or clear; razorsharp conversations; clothes, cityscapes, peace and quiet, clean hair and my mate. It's suprisingly easy to achieve sometimes.

What makes me happy?
"To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women!!!"
Oh, wait, that's the answer for "What's best in life"...
Drawing and writing stories, good books (especially old ones) good food, good sex, the sight of things that are aesthetically pleasing (including, but not limited to Ancient Egyptian art, human skulls, dark-skinned women and cats) driving cars and motorcycles, working with computers... those things make me happy.

-Making graphics and other art ( my deviantart)
-Finding new software
-Finding new music
-Marb reds
-Driving in a freezing car at 3am on a busy, long stretch of highway

There are so many things... good coffee, children at play, beautiful song, flowers in bloom.... high grades, laughter, sweet scents, feeling of healing wounds...... too much to list.

I do.
Things that make life more comfortable for me (and, therefore, conducive to my being "happy")..
~Loved ones (human and non-human animals) ~An entire day off (I work two jobs, so this can be quite a rarity) ~Receiving lotsa packages in the mail (everyday is XXXmas, says me!) ~A couple o' porterhouse steaks from Omaha Steaks (dot com), medium rare a'course, ~Books (currently, Dr. Albert Ellis' The Sensuous Person next will probably be I Was a Murder Junkie, a biography on G.G. Allin) ~Music (the CD player is chuck fulla Reverend Horton Heat at the moment *wiggles uncontrollably*)

What is it really to be "happy'? To be entertained? To feel contentment or satisfaction? To experience laughter?
For example I live in a drought area and it's raining right now and seeing it do so makes me feel 'happy'. However it's not so much happiness as relief from the tension of the heat and humidity as such.
Fulfilment for me more often comes through mastery and achievement of the tasks and goals I set for myself.
I guess for the idea of 'happiness' just too much relates to the idea of "peace and joy on earth" that the xian flock all too preaches to the common herd.

Going fast. I'm happy when I'm doing something that can be done fast. Type, eat, talk, walk, run, shit, whatever. I'm ADHD and so fast is always good to me. And owning my dream car, 1970 chevelle. And driving it really really really fast. On lonely highways of course. I'm not really being suicidal since I set my car up for high speeds, but going 180 in traffic is just plain stupid! But there is nothing, and I truly mean nothing, better than hitting a long, smooth, level straightaway. With the tires screaming and the open headers roaring, and the lightpoles looking like a picket fence. Damn! Just talking about it makes me want to go out for a early morning cruise

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favourite things
Cream coloured ponnies and crisp apple streudles
Doorbells and slaybells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favourite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winter that melts into spring
These are a few of my favourite things
When the dog bites, when the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favourite things
And then I don't feel so bad

Ten quick things that come to mind (instead of my usual essay response): 1. Rubber Duckies...just because they're cute 2. My BF's dead-on impression of Apu (the quickie-mart guy on the Simpsons) 3. Neat restaurants that serve artistic-looking food 4. The burgundy chenille scarf & gloves set my best friend gave me for X-mas 5. Sitting outside in the grass on a summer day when there's a nice breeze blowing 6. Flavored & sweetened ice tea 7. Being free to be my tacky schmaltzy self around someone (like my BF, my best friend, or certain relatives of mine) without having to be so serious and reserved (like I usually am) because they know me and it's okay 8. Loafing around in bed on one of those rare mornings when I don't have anything to do. 9. Walking my dog on an autumn evening when the sky's clear and the moon is visible 10. Looking over old reports or writing assignments from classes or elsewhere (I write for a college publication) that I put a lot of effort into and was happy with. Oddly enough, many times I wasn't satisfied with them until after grading or publication. So there they are, but there are more things I didn't think of that would go on this list. But I'd rather be doing some of them than cataloging all of them...

I hear ya, bro!
You got me thinking about my old 72 Dodge Dart Swinger... I had to sell my baby to pay the bills I had piling up. I won't deny that I literally cried like a baby when the man loaded it on his trailer and drove away. I had just finished putting in a new automatic transmission. 318 V8, Edlebrock 650 carb and intake, hooker headers, dual exhaust with flowmasters. I had it sitting in the garage for months collecting dust while I searched for a good transmission. I was giddy like a schoolgirl once I had it out on the road. I was the terror of my town, I tell you!
I think I'm going to go cry for about an hour now.

Things that make me happy... hmm... playing my guitar, a good game of chess, listening to some Spineshank, Marlyn Manson, anything of the heavier music maybe some CoF, and other forms of art and creativity. My job, being in the Army, even though I am in Afghanistan as I type this. Spending time with friends, family, and intelligent conversations, last but not least, good books.

What puts a smile on my face and a song in my heart? The simple things in life. Things like...
1. Sex with a beautiful woman
2. A Hemi roaring under the hood, shaking my testicles ferociously as I press the accelerator to the floor.
3. Ćon Flux cartoons
4. Listening to old Steve Martin LP's
5. .45 ACP's with ultra lightweight slides
6. Marshall JCM900 100 watt heads with the master volume knob set anywhere past 6, blaring through 8 12inch Celestion Greenback speakers.
7. Beef tamalčs
8. Old Harley-Davidson Panheads. (one that isn't puking oil, preferably, which is pretty rare)
9. blonde strippers that wear cowboy hats
10. Mini-KISS (a KISS tribute band made up of all midgets)

Henry Rollins still walks the earth, and releases albums and books at a steady pace.
When friends confide in me because they know I'll never tell.
Being able to explain why water is "wet" or why the sky is blue to someone who actually wants to know.
When something I create turns out better than I had envisioned.
Those days when the magic is really flowin'. You meet the people you want to meet, and they receive you the way you want to be received. Nothing can go wrong on those days.
When I'm running or lifting weights, or even skateboarding, and my body is telling me that it can't go another inch, and I force it to go another mile.
When I'm able to make friends or strangers laugh uncontrollably.
To be above average is expected, as far as I'm concerned. (Afterall, the average these days is so damn low.) When I best the others who are above average with me, I'm truly happy.
Medium rare filet mignon.
And of course, road head.

What really make me happy is: - my boyfriend and his care and love about me; - talk to my parents and eat in restaurants with them; - play with my dog; - have one day of good relation with my sister; - rice, beans, meat and french fries made by my mom; - painting and drawing; - comics book; - pop corn and coke; - listen to my favorite musics alone in my bedroom; - live

Making progress in my chosen career.
Drawing of any sort, but especially inking my comic.
Painting.
The art supply store, even when I can't find exactly what I came for, there's just something about the place.
Old fashioned B&W photo printing - that moment when the image magically appears on the paper.
Meditating.
Some yoga.
The zen of sewing or quiltmaking - provided it's going well.
Dancing.
Being finished with shopping if I've found something that works (I usually dislike the actual process itself, but success is success.)

Well, since this post has been risen from the dead so to speak I will reply: I do concur with Magister Svengali that when one of My enemies is DESTROYED ie. Other things: HOT fast CARS! Hot fast WOMEN and men! Willy Wonka. People getting what they deserve. The movie 'Love and a .45'. The movie 'Falling down'. Comic books. Toys. Silly Putty. Caves. Hiking/camping. Boating. Hockey. Watching a good clean fight (or even a NOT clean one). Kickboxing. Working out. Walking. Boxing. Rome. Slinkies. Pez. Seinfield. Any creepy show/movie/past or present. Forensics. A nice hot bath with bubbles. A piece of mail/gift/surprise. My Ritual Chamber. Satanist. My Baphomets. Soliders. The Police. Candles. A clean home. The opera. The Symphony. The smell of linen/cotton. The smell of skunk. The smell of gasoline/racing fuel. Working on My car. LIVING. Science. My VERY FEW close circle of friends (can name them on one hand). Airplanes. Airline Pilots. (Giggity giggity!) My DVD collection. (All of My collections). Artwork/photogrophy. Laughing at mortals. Life can make me so very happy, all the pleasures here makes me very happy, but they only make me happy if I don't overdo them, I need balance, or my body, and mind, will react in a negative way.
Real love is true happiness for me, love for my lovers, and friends, and my cats, and family, and nature, all kinds of love make me really happy.
I can also get really happy when I create some art, it also makes me proud.
And one last thing, it also makes me happy, when I can make other people happy, people I feel deserve it.

What really make me happy is: And "digging up 3 year-old threads" too, apparently. Ahahahahahah! Well Hell. That quote made 'Me' happy. I was thinking this AM what else makes Me happy? Rough SEX. Wind Chimes. Birds. Waxing My car. ORDER. Satan help the one who disrupts the ORDER in My home. Some call it OCD but....I call it being clean. Oh well. I'm not one of those nut jobbies who gets 'upset' when you open My cabinents and leave them that way. I will simply go 'close them Myself'. Don't wash your dishes or put water in them AT THE VERY LEAST? I will simply go wash them. Leave a water ring or spots in the kitchen or on My NICE WOOD TABLES/China/dishes? Sigh, I won't raise an eyebrow. I will simply polish/clean that area or China etc. Makes Me happy to have Silverware that doesn't have spots too. Makes Me happy when the appliances are sanitized and clean. Okay, I have a problem but then again, I really don't because?????????????????????????????? SO MANY THINGS MAKE EVE HAPPY! I'm big on spacing too. I like things 'evenly spaced'. I'll simply space them. Things like that make Me happy. When I walk in the house and it smells of fresh cut roses. Yeah I like that. I also like making My own jams and jellies, My own juice be it orange, lemon/lime etc. I make My own iced tea too which again, makes Me happy as these damned companies RARELY make unsweetened iced tea. I HATE THAT. NO SUGAR PLEASE. I make most of My things and once I learn how to sew the fashion world will weep. Already working on My own face cream as this La'Mere is quite expensive. THAT will make Me happy. I'm going to be rich I tell ya once I get this formula worked out. Welp, off to work on My Library. THAT will make Me happy too.

I find it very rewarding to my ego when someone recognizes my strengths and compliments me on them without blowing smoke up my ass.
Example: In my line of work I have to fill orders for the customers of my employer. There is no set quota. Orders can be big or small, complex or simple. I do my best to complete as many as possible with an eye to details so that the customers are satisfied.
So, the other day one of my superiors took me aside and told me that I was doing great and that the company was taking notice of my effort. The compliment really made my day.
Physical pleasure also makes me very happy. Sex. A trip to the masseuse. An exhilarating run. Carnival rides. Sweets.

Two things more than anything else in this world;
1.Seeing a smile on the face of my beloved, and hearing her laughter. Just knowing that she is happy really makes my day.
2.Playing with my cat(she is a beautiful tortie point siamese).
Of a secondary nature; good food, good strong drink, and a good book.

1. Listening to my favorite songs for hours on end while sitting at the computer. Preferably while looking at erotic "content". 2. Ogling attractive/unusual people. 3. Going shopping and coming home with that new item for the first time. 4. Eating a fresh warm slice of German Chocolate cake with an ice cold dip of vanilla ice cream. 5. Spending hours detailing my cars. 6. Losing myself while writing a song and becoming completely disconnected from the outside world.

I have a certain respect for women who use strap-on's. I'm not really sure why, maybe because it's arousing when they use them on another women? I don't know, but great list!

So many things make me happy. So I will just list them until my fingers fall off.
1. Freshly cut wood
2. Freshly cut grass (not done by me is even better)
3. Walking in downtown Portland in the early morning
4. Playing World of Warcraft until my eyes get gummy
5. Listening to music for as much time as I can every day
6. Finding large amounts of silver dimes while dumping a bag in the hopper at work (right now, those are going for 9.5 x face value folks -- tax free income, wooo hooo)
7. Having stimulating conversation with those of like mind
8. A nice warm bed with a good woman on a cold morning
9. Graphically violent cinema (Ichi the Killer comes to mind)
10. A book so good that I have trouble putting it down and I lose track of time
**THUD** (fingers fell off one hand)

Lots of things actually but here are a few;
- Natural red-haired women. - A long walk through a forest. - Finishing a work of art. - My animals, especially my Great Dane. - Art supply stores. - A good glass of whiskey. - A relaxed evening just listening to music.
