Magister Svengali has inspired me to think bigger. In that case, I wish to banish: 1) The deaths and debilitating/painful health problems of myself and those I love 2) Everybody I hate (Benignly irritating, stupid, or blip-on-the-radar twits can stay, for entertainment's sake.) 3) "Sexyback."

I code those menus, my personal phone number has one. 1.Everything Magister Svengali just mentioned. 2.Foreign call centres with employees who can't understand what i'm saying. 3.Stupid people (though they generally come under the category of "people I don't like" so i'm not sure if that counts).

1. McDonalds.
2. Mindless pop-culture.
3. Incest.
As different as they all are... they all have a common bond. One leads straight to another. At least in the sense of McDonalds and pop culture. But then again... retarded fatasses who can't think for themselves also remind me of incest babies. Just supersized.

Justin Timberlake.
I remember Steven Colbert talking about it on his show a couple weeks ago.
I've never heard the song, but this is one those cases where I'll take people's word that it sucks.

Happy Birthday JSBlack,
My choices are: 1) Terminal diseases: Dont want my life cut short and to spend the last years of my life being sad. However I would welcome pain and crippling, so that I can tell pain from pleasure and how to live life in different ways. 2) Evangelists (particularly Westboros and that awful Jesus Camp lady, oh yes and all of Army of God): People who go 'GOD HATES FAGS' just dont quite cut it in my book. 3) Gunther: Some people find it entertaining but Im no masochist.

That's a good point, Mr. Bill_M. I think I'll change my three to: 1. Obnoxious people.* 2. Radio programming.** 3. Water-saving toilets.*** *Same reason as I stated before. **I'm stuck listening to it when I'm on the road for my job, and although I enjoy silence it can often be hypnotizing on a long drive. So when I DO want to listen to some music, I'm left with very little to choose from. ***It's great for saving on the heating & water bill, however, I'm continually left plunging; gets a bit irritating after the first few times - not to be nasty or anything.

1.) SUV's (waste of money and resources) 2.) Brand name clothes (why anyone would want to wear a shirt that says "Tommy Hilfiger" when their name is not "Tommy Hilfiger" I do not know.) 3.) Commercials ( I thought the whole reason behind paying for T.V. channels is because they don't receive money from sponsors, so why are there commercials on channels we pay for?).

1.) Death 2.)Pseudoscience 3.)Non skeptics Reasons: Number one is apparently obvious. We all want to be immortal, or to pass on our mortality to that of another/others. I don't think that this prospect is impossible either. With the strides we have Scientifically accomplished, I feel that someone will crack the code. In my lifetime? I don't know. What I DO KNOW is that we have a better chance/possiblity of immortality now than EVER before. Exciting! Pseudoscience: These nut job Pseudoscientist are harming the human race and Scientific progression greatly. Pseudoscience is a global trend. It's dangerous! Full of Psychics, entertainers, etc. Many of our TOP LEAD officials rely on astrolgers and make very BIG descisions based on bogus information that some crack pot relays to them. It may seem amusing, that people can be so gullible to be swept up by such doctrine but to me it is frightening! Pseduoscience is what cults are born from. No one is interested in what these cults are and how they began. People tend to simply 'ignore' them. Ill patched Science (pseudoscience and general superstitions) are the great evils of this world. I could go into a great diatribe about this and talk Science until the cows come home. Why? Exactly! The bottom line is this: GIVE ME FACTS. Don't give me your theories. Don't give me your FAITH. GIVE ME FACTS. I want to see them. I want to witness them. I want them on paper. I want a blueprint. Talk all you want. Talk until you are blue in the face. Until I see proof? You are just another charlatan. A phoney. A fraud. Science. NOT FICTION PLEASE. Okay/end rant. How wonderful would it be to have EVERYONE (of course I realize this is not possible) to be a skeptic? To have all question everything. To have all believe NOTHING until it can be PROVEN beyond a shaddow of a doubt? Pish posh. I know this is a pipe dream and one that will never be realized. I know this. I am a REALIST. However, this thread of course, poses three answers to one hypothetical question. There is no room 101. There is no such place that would hold the evils, the bigotry, the dogma etc. in this world secure. I would like to see people that question those in authority. I would like to see people who do NOT slide back into superstiton and darkness. I would like to END the 'dumbing down of America' and the end of the 'dumbing down' of ALL people in this world. I don't pick fights. I try not to speak in company often. I got into a small debate in the Chicago International Airport Crew Room of all damned places last night over such issues. These idiots that man our airplanes watch the idot box non stop whilst in said crew room quite often. You know the type. The ones who watch gleefully as America is entertained by the stupidity of others by such shows as Jerry Springer, Judge Mathis, Montel bullshit and the like. I AM NOT entertained by such things. It sickens me! This is what we have become? Is THIS what we have evolved to? They think the topic matter is just grand. I simply sit there and wonder.... WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE??????????? Are there not more intelligent topics of discussion besides 'are you the Father'? I listened to a pilot talk about a whole slew of issues EVEN on the topic of breast feeding! (on which I might say he was very ill informed) last evening. From gun control, to abortion, to MORALITY. AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that is where I opened my mouth. I was sitting at a table with another group of pilots. This crusty old fart spouting off his rhetoric was of course, alone at his table. Hmmmm wonder why? Finally, I got up from the table after listening to so much of his BS and said openly: (in part) I cannot remember my exact words but they were something like this: "This is not a place for you to speak of morals and morality". This is an airline crew room. If I want a lesson in morals, I will find them elsewhere. I feel that your views are dangerous, and on the verge of madness. I'm ending this conversation now." Sometimes, you have to remove yourself from stupidity. Okay, oft times. If we could end these superstions, these visions of sugar plums and the like dancing in heads.... if we could all unite the vast intellect that resides in this world? If we could put it all in a couldron and mix it up a bit.... what could we as the human race achieve? WITHOUT superstition, without fear of boogey men, or god, or some higher being that doesn't exist. WHAT?!?! What, could we do? I feel much more would get done. Put the BS aside and let's concentrate on what is here, what is real. BS puts a damper on real Science. I want REAL Science. Many are SO fearful of the outside world and it's dangers that they GLADLY embrace ANYTHING that promises to soften or explain away their terrors. With Skeptecism, with Science, we can at the very least attempt to understand the world around us. If you believe EVERYTHING? You will fall for everything. Damn it, I'm sorry. Pseudoscientist/ Pseudoscience is something I can rant about/debate about for hours on end. You asked a question with three possible answers. Those are mine. If you want further reason I will be MORE than happy to elaborate. Until then? Carry on. Good show.

1. Death
Quite a lot of people here seem to want to be done away with death.
Quote:
that will be banished forever from the face of the earth
Thing is that means immortality will be given to everyone and then that will be the day when idiots cannot be wiped off the face of the Earth. Destruction Rituals would just be a few candles, the invocations and a good session of honest emotionalizing without any result. The reprehensible will forever walk the avenues of society and more and more will be spawned.
But it would seem like you are referring to Immortality when applied to yourself (?). Correct me if I'm wrong, I am not trying to stir up an argument just throwing in how I would feel about living forever. If I lived forever, I can do anything, but what happens after the first thousand years, when the world will have gone sour and perhaps I may be exhausted and jaded over with all the joys of the world? Sure, I'd like to live longer but to live forever would mean that eventually I would become weary of the world. So Im not that sure about death.
As with pseudo-science, I completely agree, morons who are out there trying to mix religion with science are impeding the advancement of science.
And the stuff with the idiot box, it's what we need to keep the herd as the herd.

Pain (the word) can have rather subjective definitions no?
It depends on what type of 'pain' you are referring to.
Is it that of physical pain or emotional/mental pain?
It is a longing? An aching? Or is it a beating. A throbbing. A ball gag?
Pain.
My little toe hurts right now, (sincerely) and I don't LIKE it. Most people don't normally LIKE pain.
We have a brain. When we touch something hot, our nerves send out a signal to our brains that says: OUCH! HOT! PAIN!
Fetishes are a whole different thing when it comes to pain. All animals and humans normally do not LIKE pain.

Not really, however, what other choice do I have? It's all or none. I don't feel comfortable with someone 'choosing' who lives on and who doesn't get that option. I don't feel comfortable with someone choosing who is intelligent enough for mortality and who isn't intelligent enough. We can fend for ourselves. We do now don't we? Look around you. Look at the dolts that surround you. We can pick out a spade from a deck of cards. Let the blind lead the blind. I myself am skipping over the ditch.

I prefer to let people be as self-destructive as they want---commit suicide, overdose on drugs, etc. If they want to die, let them die. The idea of them repeatedly doing stupid things after they finally figure out they aren't going to die isn't something I want to be around. I wouldn't want to be forced to find ways to avoid or have to endure the company of stupid people for an eternity-that would be punishment to me. They're tolerable now because their sheep mentality and behavior does present a number of advantages to the intelligent.

*shudder*
Have you seen what a lot of guys are wearing these days? You know those emo guys? They cought onto the whole pants around the knees thing, except their pants are skin tight. So instead of looking like you are wearing pants that are way too big, they have this thing where your pants are way too small.

Pain is the reason we know we are alive. It separetas us from the hipocritical bs that oterhs call christianity. In the christian belief system when you go to heaven it is all supposed to be nice and peacefull. It is perfectly natural then to think that the lack of pain is when you are dead. Otherwords when you can feel pain, you know that you are alive.

Do forgive me Biffo. I inadvertantly skipped over your reply. Quote:
But it would seem like you are referring to Immortality when applied to yourself (?). Correct me if I'm wrong, I am not trying to stir up an argument just throwing in how I would feel about living forever. If I lived forever, I can do anything, but what happens after the first thousand years, when the world will have gone sour and perhaps I may be exhausted and jaded over with all the joys of the world? Sure, I'd like to live longer but to live forever would mean that eventually I would become weary of the world. So Im not that sure about death.
Indeed, my own mortality.
Weary of the world? I myself, am already weary of this world and much of the occupants who reside in it.
Still, I would like to continue, to carry on, to live forever.
I have a Scientific mind. I do so love the achievements that the human animal has accomplished.
I like reading about a vast many things, but most of all, I like to read about progression.
Cures of ailments, forensics... ahhh forensic Science! My most favourite of all fields of Science!
It's much harder for someone to murder someone else these days. Hair follicles, fibers, blood spatters and the like.
How wonderful!
If I have to deal with others who are less advanced than myself, who are less inclined to accept Scientific fact? So be it. I deal with these people already on a daily basis.
It's a necessary evil. (Dealing with those who are clueless, with those that are ignorant.)
Makes no nevermind to me. I would like to continue. To do something marverlous. To bring something of worth to this world and if it takes me an eternity to do so? Yes, I will still try.
Yes, my own mortality, but still, I am not comfortable with speaking of others mortality.
I am a god, however I don't choose to be anothers god and make decisions that would end life to those who I would deem 'not worthy' of living forever.
I can't do that. I won't either.
Live and let live. Live and let die.
The choice is not up to me, thank Lucifers stars.
Edit: I will say this after reviewing this post:
It appears that I may look like some bleeding heart liberal in which I am not. I am a strong supporter of the death penalty. If you are a lowlife scumbag that breaks the law and kills another? I'll happily watch you roast in the electric chair.
I will help hold the needle for your lethal injection.
Okay, moving on now.

Well said Evil Eve!
As for the seperate issue of pain. I agree that we must have all forms of pain, yes it remind us that we are alive and kicking and other then that its just like love and hate. You must have both to be a good judge of character and who you truly love. With pain it is a good way to tell pleasure from pain.

Every time I think of anything there seems to be an advantage as well...
Let's see...
- People who can't listen or won't let you finish a sentence cause they're castrating and exhausting. - Petty people, cause they're an obstacle to my spontaneity. - Pseudo-intellectuals, cause they're always trying to trap you on their neat drawers of ranged references, but cannot relate to practical thinking.
Advantages:
- People who can't listen loose details. - Petty people are easily fed with gossip. They're wonderful messaging devices. - Pseudo-intellectuals are a wonderful source of references and enhance my capacity to develop original reasoning. They make wonderful caricatures.

You should twist your back the way did the day before yesterday and fancy the pain.
I look like my grand ma shortly after "falling from her tripod".
Sitting at home upright on this not very ergonomic chair on a saturday night, feeling very much alive!
Sorry, just releasing the pain...

3. Pain: Everybody hates pain.
I watched a video on a little girl with a rare neurological disorder-she can feel no pain. As an infant she blinded herself in one eye and was almost completely blind in the other. Not only would she hurt herself badly and not be aware of it but she had to be watched constantly because she wasn't old enough to understand how to be aware of self-preservation or caution. Without pain, self-preservation will be a learned skill for her. Most of us have our pain sensors to assist in this learning.
Adults would approach her parents and talk about her enviable condition, her parents would assure them it isn't enviable-quite the contrary.

A contemplative question.
Items is very open to interpretation.
As a metaphor, I would say Time, Gravity and Space. Not sure how that would work out, but I know I'd learn a lot. A gamble.
Why? I'd have more room to grow; fewer restrictions. I could go crazy though, or I could be destroyed.

I guess all three are self explanatory. I wonder if my first and second choice are one in the same. Actually, all three are one in the same. Go figure.

Choice Reason Myself
With those 3 things and and an absence of interferance I could do and be anything.

Reason being the description of matter that is matter as much as tree is a description of tree as well as being tree (the same way satanist is who a satanist is and is not separate to a satanist's being). Choice being the means by which which myself can interact with that.

Well, how fat is fat?
I tend to not be in a hurry in the grocery store. So, rather than just slow-moving people, the folks I REALLY get irritated with are the ones who make abrupt stops, or maneuvers that either result in me being hit, bumped, or blocked.

You've just highlighted one of my pet hates, people who walk around so oblivious to their surroundings and other people, they often stop dead in the middle of a store aisle and then give you dirty looks when YOU bump into THEM ! You almost expect them to say "Hey ! why don't you watch where I'M going ?" I recently watched the original version of Dawn of the Dead and began to wonder if it was a horror film or a documentary about the majority of customers who frequent my local mall !

1. MY writer's block (not the writer's block of my competitors ) 2. People who live their lives based on the music they listen to (especially the so-called "Hip Hop culture"). 3. Collectivism

Ok. All the things I should have said that I never said. All the things I should have done that I never did. All the things I should have given that I never gave. This stupid song I can't get out of my head. Thank you Kate Bush. Oops I ran out of options. Happy?

1 - The "singer" James Blunt (his name is now rhyming slang for...well I think thats obvious). 2 - Celebrity chef's - "I can cook a meal using fresh ingredients bow before me in awe and supplication mortal". 3 - Tom Cruise - uber idiot manchild, if a hollywood studio gives you the push for acting like a dick then truly you are a dick amongst men.

I want a bigger Room 101. 3 things to banish just isn't enough.
Blunt annoys me like nothing else, his voice grates on me nerves and makes me feel sick. Cruise is the biggest moron to grace the celebrity pages. He is a wanker right down to the core, I can't stand the sight of him.

I agree 3 items of hatred just isn't enough. If I was ever to appear on the Room 101 tv program they would have to turn it into a 24 hour charity telethon.

Indeed. I've managed to control my environment to an impressive degree, and I'd like to do it even better in the future. TiVo and XM, anyone? But, yeah, I do choose to and have to go to various public places and deal with noise and annoyance. What's more, sometimes, I do like to watch a little TV or listen to the radio, because I like a little random, unexpected spontaneity. Mostly, my third entry was a joke. If I had a real opportunity to banish something for all eternity, I wouldn't waste it on a song that's going to be gone in six months anyway .
