After what I understand, the name "Satanism" doesn't come from the fact that you/we worship Satan, as you/we don't.

But why do I find "Hail Satan" written on the official CoS website (among others) which is (I hope) serious?

Is it just a form of provocation or is there another reason or what?

Since you seemingly understand why we call ourselves Satanists, I am not sure why this is a question in your mind. We praise the (fictional) image of Satan as one worthy of praise. What more is there to add?
