Thanks for the spell checker Magister. English has some tricky, tricky words in it. Now we can all sound intelligent! Well, maybe not all of us... Particularly me if you've already been given kudos for this.

I don't seem to be able to find that feature anywhere on my screen. Could someone please enlighten me.

Oh? That was Firefox doing that? Well, Kudos to Magister Ventrue on this new forum outline and updated features. As I said, even with the spell checker not everyone will manage to sound intelligent.

So, wait a minute...is there really a LttD spellchecker, and is it only available through a Firefox browser? Maybe this thread should be moved into the website fixes/issues section.

Yep it's firefox, not LTTD. But hailing LTTD is always good anyway so let's do that.

No the latest version of Firefox has added the spell check function so that misspelled words are underlined in red when you enter posts on sites like LttD
Perhaps there should be one specific to LttD, one that catches things like "satin" and "stan"

I write everything in Word, where there is an excellent spellchecker, and just copy and paste. I have the spellchecking feature in my Firefox too, but Word is more reliable.
Of course, neither of those fix [most] grammar mistakes, or [really damn] stupid mistakes in the meaning of the content itself. So, of course, there is still enough room for looking not-so-intelligent, as you mentioned.
But yeah, the spellchecker clears up at least some part of one's presentation. I can't recommend it enough.

Good news. I wondered why we don't have spell check in here. IE was hiding it? I'll have to give Firefox a shot. But then not having spell check has forced me to use my brain more, which is also good news...

I would agree that being aware of your spelling is a good thing - but then I've also noticed that along the years I have picked up some bad habits in my spelling, very little in my own language but a bit more in English, so now my brain misspells those words by habit, so the spell check is a way to make me aware of them and break the habit. This is one error where a dictionary would not help out, since typically I would not doubt my own spelling and look the word up.
