What's up with all these threads about "death" lately? Was there a news bulletin about a comet coming to Earth that I missed? HS!

To me death simply means the end. I have no time to think about it. Although I have at times thought about my conciousness surviving past the halt of my mechanics. It's an intriguing thought.
I would die for nothing or no one.

ANOTHER "death" thread? Is this the third one this week? What does death mean to you? "The great abstinence". The end of consciousness. The big sleep. A Klondike bar? I'm sure I could think of some elaborate hypothetical situation where I'd give my life for something, like saving the life of a certain friend or family member. But nothing impersonal like a name or an ideology.

No,it isn't...Satanism is about vital existance and the here and now, living life to the fullest. Why bother about death?

Hmmmmmm, what would 'I' die for?
Well, sometimes you simply don't know until it's down to the wire do you?
I can't honestly say that I would be willing to die for anyone.
The Xtian Bible says this:
Greater 'love' have no man than this, than a man who would lay down his life for his friends.
What a crock. I would have to question: Would this 'friend' die for you too? And if so.... what is the outcome? DEATH. DEATH SUCKS!
Would I be willing to do this? In honest, I cannot answer for certain.
I would like to think that I WOULD be willing to do so for a cherished family member or (silly as it may sound) one of My loving animals.
Yes, I may be willing to do so if it came up. I however, do not wish to meet death. I would not go out like a coward, but if I am to go out, it will be for a sincere reason. It will be for those I love and only when I am assured that My shell is secured.
I must now ask a question to you dear poster,
Have you been faced with death? Have you escaped deaths clutches by the skin of your teeth?
It changes how you view life, living, and of course.......dying.
Things that have drastically changed My views of death:
House fire. Abduction. Disease/possible/probable fatality due to extreme illness.
It changes your perspective. It truly does.
It is very easy to ask questions such as you posed without having brushed through the gates of Hell.
In any event, death is not welcome here. To Me, death means....checking out. Pushing up Daisy's, eating a dirt sandwich... (giving up).
I am not interested in any of those things.
I? I plan to fly!

Ahhhhhh. Klondike Bars and Sodo-wills. That is good stuff. I risk my life pretty regularly here in Iraq. So I guess it would be safe to say that I would die for a thrill-filled and productive life.

Hm, once upon a time I had taken life after death for granted. Growing to realize that what I was taught about it is crap, was not very pleasant. Eventually got over it. And also got over the fear of Hell, which is really good (Fearing that someone you love is doomed to endlessly suffer by your spiteful god can be bad for your sanity.)
'Now if you suppose that there is no consciousness, but a sleep like the sleep of him who is undisturbed even by the sight of dreams, death will be an unspeakable gain. Now if death is like this, I say that to die is gain; for eternity is then only a single night.'
'That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet.'
'Always look on the bright side of death *whistle whistle*'
That said, I would die only for the one/s with whom we'd have such a bond that it'd make me 100% certain that they would do the same for me.
