So quick question...

I have noticed many of the higher clergy of the CoS have symbolic nicknames. Is this the norm and/or are they for the sake anonymity?

I apologize in advance if this is not a topic for a public forum.

Not sure I get you. Most of us either use our real names or our regular internet monikers with the title attached.

Is that what you meant?

Yeah, I guess that pretty much answers it. I thought maybe it went further, like how Magister Nemo published his book under that name.

Nope. Nothing more deep than pseudonyms used for public consumption, or personal choice.

Very simple.

Go look up a picture of James Mason in his role playing Captain Nemo in the Walt Disney film version of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea".

Then look at my photo avatar.

Nemo has been my Old Nickname for many, many years.

If you ever read Jules Verne's novel or see the James Mason film, you will also better understand why I relate to that name and use it as a pen name as well.

Interesting question Mr./Mrs./Ms. Jack.

The answer is very simple; pragmatism. Some of us would rather not divulge our true identities to the general public for reasons that should be all too obvious.

Privacy is of great value to us so it stands to reason that we would take steps to guard it as I assume you have as well.

Dagger Jack...of the California Jacks?

Cheers,

Col. Akula
