I really need to do both. Both are painful and expensive. Which would you rather do?

If both needed to be done, I would do both as soon as possible and get them over with.

Depends on what you have to go to the dentist for.

Go to the dentist. My dental hygienist is a sweetie, and very cute. She makes going to the dentist a pleasure... ;\)

Taxes. I always get money back.

The problem is that my dentist is very depressed...he always looks down in the mouth.

I do go regularly. Prune juice every morning.
How does bowel regularity protect me from the scary dentist?

The Dentist. I have never had a cavity in my entire life and I plan on keeping that record.

What a delightfully weird question.

Taxes. They don't hurt and have never cost me anything. Me likey moolah.

Dentists me not like so much. Brace yourself for my dentist story. I once went to a dentist who talked me into 38 fillings as a 'pre-emptive' measure. Where does that fall on the scale of stupid? But I figured doctors know best. I did the entire thing without any ... what is word... numbing business. It was not until later that I realized I, and my 'future' cavities, were putting this young lady's kids through college. Hey, can't blame her for that but I sure felt stupid. And a whole heck of alot poorer. Now I just brush and floss a hundred times a day.... and get second and third and fourth opinions from doctors. They're not always right, you know.

PS: But don't I have pretty teeth? I can blame a dentist for that.

I'd go with taxes. Your teeth don't get an audit.

I do hope you get a nice return so you can take care of the dental visit soon.

If it's something serious or could become serious without attention, I would go to the dentist first. Vanity is a motivating factor to get me into the dentists chair. You still have a bit of time left to do your taxes.

I agree with the previous posters, who suggested doing both as soon as possible. If you eat your frogs now you'll have less weighing on your mind later. Best wishes, Bonnie.

Yes, but what if they started to? Can you imagine armed men knocking on your door and hauling you off to the dentist? I think it has merit as a marketing idea.

Shade, your English is really coming along! Keep up the good work!

I'm sorry that you will never get to know your "future" cavities. She probably felt that your grooves were too deep. I've always thought you might be one of those "deep groove" people myself.

Scion, my unpleasant experiences with dentists started at an early age. Let me think...I clearly remember having a root canal on a BABY tooth. Why didn't they just yank the effing thing for chrisssake?

I got my taxes done today, though. I'm getting a refund and the tax preparer gave me a hug afterward. Oh, and I ate candy while she worked on them. Oh, the irony!

Fucking hell... you got one of those snorty gross laughs out of me with that one.

Probably something that could be corrected by a good dentist.

No, I can't take credit for that phrase. Although those activities sound about as appetizing as eating frogs. It was from some book I read for a business/marketing course in college, maybe How To Win Friends And Influence People.

Well now, I hope that everything turns out OK for you, now that your taxes are paid and all.
But it is possibly to avoid these kind of problems completely as long as you take care of your mouth. A very easy way to save money, yes?

Good luck with it in the future!

Well.

I don't know if it works the same over there as it does here but if you don't pay your taxes they send you to prison.

They get a FREE dentist in prison.

So it would be quite easy to do both.

However, I don't advise resorting to such methods.

Maybe there is some legal recourse you can explore if you are having trouble paying your taxes. Either way, you have simply no choice but to pay them - you owe and they'll always take it some way.

By a strange synchronicity I have just received an email from the taxman that I have the option of filing early this year.

Being the most greedy tax system in the world nothing much is left to chance with the danish IRS, you just have to check that the info they already have is correct and then sign it digitally.

Going to the dentist - now there's a wholly different can of worms.

When I was younger and BROKE I pulled a tooth with a pair of needle nose pliers. Pain is transforming.

Speaking of pain, I use TurboTax, it's pretty much the same kind of program that HR Block uses. Anyone halfway intelligent can figure out or find their deductions. On the other hand a truly evil accountant can probably get you more.

I tried the same once. Since the tooth was kind of lose, I thought I could pull it out easy with pliers. The tooth shattered and the root remained embedded on my jaw. It soon developed into an abscess and I had to go to the dentist where they needed to literally scrap the meat and bone around to reach the buried piece of root and pull it off.

Did you know anesthesia doesn’t work when there is infection?

Thus I learned stupidity IS painful!!!!!

I got lucky, the roots were dead from a previous failed root canal (medicade covered the root canal but not the cap, being poor sucked) so I was able to grap the post. And yes stupidity is also transforming.

The dentist. I have terrible teeth and have experienced more dental pain than you can imagine from absceses and exposed root nerves. The dentist doesn't hurt that much compared to having a nasty abscese anyway. once the needle goes in the pain is pretty much over for the rest of your life from a tooth. I didn't find a root canal to be that painful compared to these experiences.
