As I have stated in other post.I am still very new to all of this.I may sound like a fool for asking these things,But.I'd like to get an idea from all of the CoS members as to what my thoughts on these things might have in common with the satanic beleif system,if anything.

First.

I have beleived for years, that people praying for miricals was a waste of time.I beleive that the Mirical is yours for the taking,It is about you standing up and say I claim this,If you want to walk again,It's not about what the doctors say is possible,it's not about praying,It's about deciding that you will walk again, and putting your faith in that, and working your butt off to make it happen.
The reason I feel so strongly about this,Is because I had a problem with my neck,After an injury my neck was fused into a possition where my chin was resting on my chest,it was like this for years,The doctors told me that it would never be any better.Well I refused to beleive them,I said it would be better,And it is.Granted I don't have the movements in my neck that most of you have,But It's nothing like it was before.I worked and worked and never gave up on what I wanted and I have made what they said was Impossible A reality.

My question is,Does the satanic beleifs teach anything like this?

Also,What I beleive that it our right to be open about our beleifs and not hide them( Unless we are not comfortable revilling them at this point)But if we are I think we should have that right,Does Satanic teach encurage that,or does it call for us to be secretive about our beleifs?

I'm just trying to understand better,In hopes that I won't offend anyone here.

Please help me if you can.

Thanks in advance.

You have the right to be open - but remember, having right of way does not help you if you get hit by a truck. Being open about your Satanic beliefs may be beneficial if you're a young King Diamond trying to launch a heavy metal career. It may be less so if you are trying to set up a small business in a town where people are mostly xtians or working in the army or law enforcement with a born-again boss.

A quote you will see quite often in here is "Satanism requires no martyrs". This sums up very nicely the attitude towards secrecy or going public - you can apply it to your own position and the goals you want to achieve in this world and see what will work for you.

Another often used phrase if "first stage Satanist" i.e. someone who has just discovered Satanism and wants to shout his/her affiliation from the rooftop and challenge every xitian in sight. This is understandable, but can sometimes be counterproductive. This removes focus from your goals in this world and defines you by what you are not instead of what you are.

One very good advice from a CoS member that I read in here a while ago was to start a journal to write those things down that you need to let out but might not want to be public about. If you read through some of the old topics you might come across it (or do a search for the appropriate keywords).

Thank you.

That was what I was wanting to know.

I just always found it more logical to beleive in your own powers to heal than to beleive in miracles.

It would be counterproductive for many Satanists to be open about Satanism.

The question that comes to mind with me, is WHY be open about it?

I don't know the exact quote, or where I read it, but Priest LeviathanXIII put it best when he said (something close to this) "People who have nothing else to talk about besides their religions are assholes."

Generally, in conversation with someone you are just meeting, the topic of religion doesn't come up. If someone brings it up, and asks you blatantly what your religion is, politely decline to talk about it. Simple.

"I'm a SATANIST what do you think of THAT?" is all over the internet by so called "Satanists", and it does nothing but make the individual look like an idiot. I have not yet once had to explain myself to anyone, I told my girlfriend whom I live with, and my mother, because both are very open to these kinds of "new" ideas. Not a hitch. Other then that, there has been no necessary need to tell anyone else really.

When you are looked at as an outstanding individual with real worldly achievements, and others respect your presence, THEN it shouldn't matter WHAT you are. People who simply hold a title high above their heads, yet do nothing else to succeed in life are brushed off as a nuisance, and nothing more.

In North America, and in many places in the world, you are allowed to follow and believe whatever you want...but that does not necessarily mean you should announce what that thing is through a megaphone. Some bigoted people will never accept or understand what Satanism is (okay, MOST people.) and to live your life to the fullest, you do not want to place yourself at their mercy.

Why take anyone's word for it? Think about it, you don't know anyone from squat around here, much less if they are qualified to give you the information you are seeking (even if it does say CoS Member under their name). I often marvel how so many come to this board and ask a million questions (not in the designated forum) and just accept that what some random person on the internet is telling them is accurate.

You stated in your introduction that it had been many years since you had read the Satanic Bible. Your best bet is to dig that book back out and read it again, and again. There are other works by LaVey that are essential in getting a clear understanding of Satanism. That is where you should be seeking your answers.

Here is the way to get the answers you want:

1) Get The Satanic Bible from the book store or Amazon.com

2) Cease posting until book arrives and you have read it

3) Read book

4) Repeat

5) Repeat

6) No longer appear a lazy half-wit to those who you want for peers

Well.I am greatful for all the advice, and replies.

However I must point out, that I did in fact read the Satanic Bible,And I can still remember the day I bought it.It was Augs 15 1992.I had just started Studying The Necronomacan, when I went into a book store and found A book called the Satanic Bible.I opened the boo and clanced through it in the store, and That's when this jerk in the store said( Why are you looking at that,It's the devils book)So I looked at him and said,Does it Offend you?He said yes,So I said,Good, and bought it on the spot.

I started reading it that night And I was drawn to it.Yes I haven't read it in awhile,Because my friend,Let his cousin borrow it,and she never returned it.

I will be picking up a new copy if I can find one around here,as well as others of interest. And as for the things I have asked about and said I read or thought I did,Those came from memory,Not websites.I looked at two Satanic sites,This one and before it the Church of Satan's website, that's all.I don't look up stuff on the net,I ask people who study it,Either through their web groups,or in person....

You may find the attitude coming to you as a result of your questioning not to be to your liking.

The best way to find out the information is not to ask the student; but to BECOME the student. Satanism REQUIRES study, and as the philosophy is one pertaining to the individual, it requires that the individual tread their own way in. If you read all of the available Satanic literature and still have questions, there is a Questions forum available where a member of the CoS Hierarchy will give replies. Bruja's post was right on the money.

Phosis.

I do respect yours and Bruja's advice.as well as many of the others, many of you have gone out of your way to take time to answer, with respect and honesty.

I didn't feel I was being disrespectful in asking those questions.I may have been out of line asking though.I am sorry to anyone I offended.and I will take the advice and study all that I can.

As for my reply to the other guy.Well I don't like being called a lazy Half-wit and I like it even less when it's coming from soneone who doesn't know me and forms their oppion based only on the fact I asked a few questions. It was rude and Uncalled for.

However I do respect those that took the time to answer without insulting..and I will out of respect step away from the anger and just let the others go.

I am not perfect,Nor do I want to be,I am only me,and that's who I strive to be.

I spend a lot of time at work, but, the nature of my job lets me read. The problem is I am always around co-workers. So I used a little duct tape to hide the cover of my bible (it's funny that the christian bible or the koran are never questioned). Now everyone thinks I reading racist propaganda or pornographic material. Which is probably more accectable. I am not ashamed of beliefs, I just get tired of people trying to "save" me.

I will need to pick up a hardcover edition from my chamber.

Wow.I'm not even wasting time commenting on the lazy remark.

As for my neck,Random.Like I said it's not like it was.I have mild movement in it now,and though it's not perfectly straight. It is far better than what it was.I have also learnt to adapt over the years.

Also I can turn my body when driving which allows me to see like most people can when they turn their neck.

On a plus side. For some strange reason I have oustanding hearing.I can hear a house cat walking on pavment at 100 yards,Yes I know hard to beleive,But true. And I can't hear a dog whistle,But I get headaches from being near one that is being used.Which is why I gave up Hunting durring gun season.I can't stand the sound of a gun firing.I have a headache for 3 days afterwards.

I guess the old saying is kind of true,Your senses do adapt.what you lack in one,the others make up for.

Oh and by the way,Try not to use my name in a description like that.Jacked up.Just kidding dude.

Well Leviathanreborn,

I must say that I agree with you. I am as well new at this site, and I have many questions I need answered. I have been interested in the dark forces ever since I was 13. I have researched certain things, and asked other Satanist questions, and it ends up resulting in a mess of tension because of all the disagreements and different beliefs. If you have a question, you should be aloud to ask it with out any problems. I dont see how its lazy. I have many struggles with collecting facts and truths about Satanism. I have no way of getting the Satanic Bible because all the people in my life are strickly against it. And the internet doesn't do me much good. So therefore I have to spend time with Satan and try to feed off of what he is telling me. I'm sure there will be people reading this and thinking im a foolish person, but I am just speaking the truth. Alot of people underestimate me concidering I'm 17. But I understand so much more then people think. Anyway, hopefully I can get all my questions answered soon. I would really like to start practicing more effective rituals.

I assume you are describing psychoneuroimmunology, a branch of science as defined by the American Academy of Science.

This does not require belief.

It requires understanding how to communicate to your body the results you seek.

This can be used in conjunction with physical therapy and standard medical treatment.

You keep using the word "belief" as if you are also describing "faith".

That is not a part of this religion at all.

Satanism respects proven tools to manipulate the world in our favor.

We are uninterested in anything that does not seem useful.

So instead of bandying about the word "belief", why not get specific and describe exactly what tools you are talking about?

Frankly, if it works we tend to use it.

If it doesn't work we drop it.

Satanists are incredibly pragmatic.
