I was in the hospital when this topic/thread came out and this is the first I have seen of it.

Regrets, things that I would change. Oh yes, I have mine. If I could change a few things or mistakes I felt I had made they would be in this order:

I would have listened more.

I would have learned more.

I would have LIVED/LAUGHED more.

But if this means that it would change anything in My past/present life that led Me to what I possess now? I would say no, even the bad gunky stuff in My life the answer would still be no.

I would not change those things because...as long as I am still here I have time to change them NOW. I can now listen more and talk less. I can read more, and learn more NOW. I can LIVE more and laugh more which I suspect is what We all should be doing. Living and getting on with it.

If one song sums up Myself and this thread, I suppose ol' Blue Eyes was thinking of Me when he wrote it:

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, Ill say it clear,
Ill state my case, of which I'm certain.

Ive lived a life thats full.
Ive traveled each and every highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, Ive had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.

Ive loved, I've laughed and cried.
Ive had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
No, oh no not me,
I did it my way.

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

I think We have all done it our way and that's how it goes. What We choose to do with the time We have now is what is important, not the things We could have changed. Sometimes....the grass isn't greener on the other side, sometimes, you just have to plant some new seeds at the place you find yourself currently.

Oh Eve, this was so heartfelt. Thank you for sharing this. Also, thank you for making me think! I have much to learn, and I am FINALLY doing it my way.

MegaMillions or Powerball? You can do one, I'll do the other. coopdevil

I wouldn't undo anything I've done in the past. As many people have said, everything that has happened has shaped me somehow... and I'm pleased with that shape.

Fortunately for me, I'll have gotten through quite a few really big mistakes early on. I think I'll be ready for the more grownup ones soon, like credit debt and marriage. wink

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way.
So I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.

farjalikhali, credit debt is not a grown up thing. Credit debt is for people who cannot manage their money. It can happen to anyone who can get a credit card, and it can happen if you don't use that credit card wisely. Don't fall into the credit debt trap. Save your money, be wise, pay cash, or don't buy it. You'll be rich beyond your wildest dreams if you are smart with your money. Let your money work for you! When you get your paycheck, you pay yourself first!

Be wise!
