On the 30th, the luscious Fifi and I will be arriving in Istanbul for a week away from our children. We'll see the sights, shop 'til we drop, listen to Turkish singers/orchestras, get pampered at the hamams, sip a few rakis and get to know each other all over again...

Read page 96 - 98 in the Satanic Bible. It's kind of like Halloween.

OH! okay, the Spring Equinox, sure I am happy to celibrate the longest day of the year! I may very well go skydiving again. No better way to spend a day than jumping out of an airplane from absurd heights.

Correction: An Equinox is a period where both night and day are of equal length (think "Equal").

Working.

Last year, I performed a private ritual that I had written, but it looks like I won't get the chance this year.

By the time I get home, I won't have the emotional energy to fart, much less than put on a rewarding ritual.

So I'll have to pass.

Good question. I may do what I did on Halloween...sex in the back of a minivan by the side of a lonely dirt road in the dead of night. Probably the best sexual experience I've had so far.
If there are no good concerts to attend on this fine day, I'll just be sure to extra-indulge myself in the food, drink, music, and poon-tang departments. A ritual may be in order as well.

No introduction needed sir, trust me.

Our friend is very, very familiar. And I have to admit, at this point - it's really funny. I'm actually enjoying watching the insanity of it all.

Which reminds me...the quote from last time is missing. This is a shame, because it showed a real sense of self-depricating humor that I enjoyed.

Getting dressed to the nines, and going to supervise security for a concert. If I'm in the mood, and recieve from freetime, I may go enjoy the show, and use the electricity from the crowd to manipulate my own goals. It would seem a shame for all that emotional energy to go to waste.

Cheers.

Umm... yeah the Spring Equinox has already passed (it's usually March 20th or 21st).

Also, the Summer Solstice is the Longest Day of the Year and that's in June.

Seems like the most of you missed the lack of honesty in my post. The majority of that was sarcasm, while the other half was just a damn bad mood. Forgive the horrible amount of stupidity, although, I admit, that lil joke about drunk and greased fingered was pretty good, as was the darwin award thing.

In all honesty, this year I plan to indulge a little more than I do everyday.

I tend to pronounce it with a bit of a German accent to it
Vawl- PurJis-Nokt, but I'm not actually certain if there should be a hard or soft sound in pronouncing the letter G so it very well may be pronounced Vawl-PurGis-Nokt.

This is how I pronounce it (sorry about the "?" -- the board doesn't like to display breves)...

v?l-PR-gs-nKHt

v?l- as in "volume"
PR- as in the sound a kitten often makes
gs- like "kiss" but beginning with a hard g, like "granite"
nKHt- from the throat as with "bach", or "loch", but ending in a t.

EDIT:

I just checked and Walpurgisnacht is in the Merriam-Webster online dictionary.

They elegantly describe the pronunciation as "vl-'pur-g&s-"n[k]t", but the definition actually has a handy-dandy audio sample so you can hear it if you'd like.

If you're going for the jin-yoo-wahn German pronunciation, it's a hard G, as Professor Sinister's link helpfully shows.

The word is also sometimes anglicized as "Walpurgis Night", where the G is soft (and the W may be, too).

So really, whether you say "volpurghis", "volpurjis", or "wolpurjis", you're safe from the Pronunciation Nutzis.
