What is Ramen?

I'll help you out.

Ramen is short for "Ramen Noodles" which can either come in a bag (all the noodles are dried and clumped together in a block) and a season packet comes inside the bag as well.

Ramen Noodles can also come inside a cup in which you simply pour hot boiling water into which softens the noodles. Stir......and you have a warm noodle type Asian soup substance.

In the case where the bags are used, you simply dump that into a bowl and pour the hot water over the noodles and add the packet. Mix. Eat.

These bags/cups cost on the average (last time I checked which was around 2007) around .60 cents USD a piece.

They also.......make GENERIC RAMEN which really cracks Me up!

They also make GENERIC SPAM. Again.....this cracks Me up. Might as well eat cat food....

And For the foodies who may want to know, Ramen shops are ALL OVER Tokyo. But not in this format.

Imagine being able to walk into a shop on virtually every other street corner and get a steaming hot bowl of thin beef slices and chives in sesame flavoured broth? That, and everyone can smoke too.

Most Ramen over in Japan is apparently considered junk food...like how we consider potato chips junk food.

Then again, anyone who thinks those deep fried noodles with salty topping AREN'T junk food needs to get their head examined.

But they are oh so delicious!

I oft times make My own pasta noodles from scratch......I make My own beef, chicken, or vegetable stock.....

It's delicious.....but......I really.....really.....am thinking about opening a bag of that Ramen crap!
