One thing I've noticed is that a lot of what we do here is post articles and comment on them from a Satanic Perspective.

These things often used to get posted in Politics, but probably never really belonged there. Now that Politics is rightly in the members area, it might be nice to have a specific, public place for news commentary that is political only in the broadest sense of the definition. In the description, it could warn that discussion of political parties, elections and legislation will not be entertained.

An example of what might go in such a forum follows:

Mom sues Coors over son's death in accident
http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/04/18/coors.suit.ap/index.html

We comment on this kind of cultural avoidance of personal responsibility often (the 'son' was legally an adult, if not 21), and it relates directly to Satanic philosophy...but would probably muddy the intent of the 'General' area.

Excellent idea, especially the warning statement! I know my passion for all things Politik have got the best of my judgements at times, let alone some younger fanatic with a hidden agenda toward this site from their bible study sturmbannfuhrer!!

I, for one, would definitely appreciate to see such a forum and participate in it.

As for the "warning notice", I don't think it'll be bullet-proof as can be seen time and again on other public forums, though it just might help in preserving the forum's quality.

Anyway: if Reverend Lestat decides to graces us with this, count me in for sure.

I do like this idea but even the most basic news story can quickly turn into a political debate.

Perhaps Mr Malebranche would be happy to specifically moderate such a forum to edit or lock threads that were drifting towards discussion of political principles?
