Animal abuse always touches a very raw nerve with me since I'm a misanthropic creature by nature and generally prefer the friendship of my companion animals to that of most people I know.

I'd like everyone to know that while the SPCA regularly requests donations, such gifts need not be monetary. I often donate items such as pet food, treats, toys, old blankets, towels and sheets, newspapers, first aid supplies and OTC medications. The staff has always been VERY grateful for these donations. I've even seen a tear or two on occasion.

Towels, bedlinen, etc, are vital for sick or injured animals. Animal welfare charities also run charity shops - clothes, books, kitchenware, ornaments, anything.
