Sound waves are fluctuations in the density of molecules in a substance; second sound waves are fluctuations in the density of phonons. Second sound can be observed in any system in which most phonon-phonon collisions conserve momentum. This occurs in superfluids and in dielectric crystals when Umklapp scattering is small.

This is without looking one up (possibly you're using a different color scheme than me, since regular users do not appear blue to me); but years ago members were a minority here and were derisively called "pinkies" by the rabble, if you can believe that. Last I looked only one or two users actually never updated their account and still have the old pink color, or whatever it's rendered to now; there could be a couple other now-obsolete color schemes but I don't remember them off hand. _________________________ "The devil I'll bring you," answered Hagen. Could it have been the old active member/hierarchy color? I'm also curious as to why some people have the "CoS Member" tag in italics instead of plain text and why others such as JoeNetherworld have no title at all, if there is any reason beyond forum technical oddities. _________________________

Warlock Krowklaws unfortunately died some time ago, as you stated correctly; I recall Magister Koerbagh posting a few times but never knew him personally and cannot speak to his present disposition, whether he parted ways, died, or what. I cannot do a member search by name color...though I can search by nearly any other criteria, so I cannot guess who the other person you reference is. As for titles, that's a known forum bug. Some were probably italicized by mistake, others were probably "victim" of a title bug we had some time ago. _________________________ "The devil I'll bring you," answered Hagen.
