My username is actually my medical record number in my home state. Seemed fitting enough to be my username at the time, it's only a few days out from my birthdate too.

My username is the name of the devil in the movie called Legend. That movie was my upmost favorite in my childhood years so I adopted it here.

Loved the movie Legend I always root for the devil and Tim Curry played it well. Also a huge Battlestar fan! My username is just a spin of the moniker I often use; skully. My avatar is Asher; a most cunning character from the Spartacus series.

As I have said in a post a couple of years ago, my user name is, obviously, 666 in "Roman Numerals." When I joined LttD, I wanted what I thought would be an original user name. So, there it is.
One of the dispatchers in our office saw it on the back of my jacket and asked me to "Turn around," so he could get it right. He Googled it, and said, "That's what I thought it said. Cool." Another dispatcher (VERY xtian) asked him, "What does it say?" "666" "Oh?" and a "strange look" at me.

Mine was originally developed as the name of a demon in a comic script I was writing. I was playing around with words, and since Satan is the adversary I took the word "versus", then I thought of the demon Pazuzu which I remembered from the stories of Tardi. So, mixing those two together I came up with something that I thought was unique.
I've since found out that it actually is a word in some language.

My username is actually quite boring.
Firstly, "Nick" is an abbreviation of my given name, Nikolailo-colas Machiacaesar.
Secondly, "Napalm" is a jelly-like substance, and I like jelly. Just kidding, it's actually a reference to the mid 80's grindcore band Napalm Afterbirth. The lead singer/bassist called himself Waldo Napalm so I figured I'd switch it around and pretend to be original.

JSBlack is sort of a take on the name of a favoured composer of mine – J. S. Bach, plus, adding to this my surname is Blackmoor and my first name begins with a ‘J’, it seemed fitting. The ‘S’ in the middle of my name can be anything you like.

I hate the sun.
The rest of the story: I got the nickname when I was 6 or 7 from a slew of quirks and odd coincidences that culminated in a real life Twilight Zone-ish lost and found episode. Apparently, it was traumatic (I don't remember it the same way other people do). Anyway it stuck, sort of evolved and became permanently lodged in my inner-world mythology.
But mostly I just hate the sun.

Mine is actually a mishmash of my real name, and erm...Bedlam. A nuthouse. It seemed apt.
From Wikipiddle:
Quote:
The Bethlem Royal Hospital is a psychiatric hospital located in London, United Kingdom and part of the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Although no longer in its original location and buildings, it is recognised as the world's first and oldest institution to specialise in the mentally ill. It has been variously known as St. Mary Bethlehem, Bethlem Hospital, Bethlehem Hospital and Bedlam.
Quote:
The word bedlam, meaning uproar and confusion, is derived from its name. Although the hospital is now at the forefront of humane psychiatric treatment, for much of its history it was notorious for cruelty and inhumane treatment – the epitome of what the term "madhouse" connotes to the modern reader.
Quote:
Eighteenth century Bethlem was most notably portrayed in a scene from William Hogarth's A Rake's Progress (1735), the story of a rich merchant's son whose immoral living causes him to end up in a ward at Bethlem. This reflects the view of the time that madness was a result of moral weakness, leading to "moral insanity" being used as a common diagnosis.

I originally took the name Branwyn as an SCA name (Society for Creative Anachronism- medieval recreation sort of thing) as a young teenager. Since then, it has become apparent to me that Branwyn is my real name, even though it is not any part of my legal name.

Shiva might as well be my first name. I don't think my husband even remembers the name on my driver's license most of the time.
I got the nickname many years ago, back when I was working for a horror attraction. One day I was in my workshop, surrounded by severed heads and body parts, when a Hindu co-worker walked in and exclaimed "Jai Shiva!" Word got around and the name stuck. (I found out that Shiva/Siva was the Hindu god of creation through destruction, which seemed to fit me well.)
Since it flows well with my last name, I went ahead and adopted it as my professional name.

Sure, you can just "Bill Me Later" on that.
Or maybe it's the other way around and I do the billing, because my name is phonetically the same as "bill 'em" (as in 'bill them')!
I have to wonder though if during my teenage years, I ever dated a girl who wrote "I [heart] B.M." on a restroom stall. Because that would give it a whole other meaning.

"Conquer or perish" is a phrase from the book Might Is Right: Survival of the Fittest by Ragnar Redbeard, an inspiration for The Satanic Bible.

Is the demon in your comic strip named "verszou" or "versus"?

My current name is a personal joke to myself, regarding a fellow filmmaker friend who praised me on my technique.
Dr. LaVey once wrote how people who spell magic with a "k," aren't.
I think I'm a better writer.

Verszou the corrupter was the name I had intended for him. My artist dropped out of the project, so it was never realized. I have him as a supporting character in another story, but apart form that I've mostly used it as a character name when I played online MMRPG.
It seems appropriate to use the name again here, because I was bored with the games and started listening to "Satanism today" on RFS which eventually led me here

Mine is simple and dull, my name Keith L. and 67 the year of my birth. Have been wanting to change it to Kern. Ive used that user name for about 8 years on various sites. At one time I was into Celtic mythology and a Gaulish deity of nature and or fertility, Cernunnos "the horned" one drew my attention, but I didn't want to call myself that, so I shortened it to Kern with a K. Ironically I had never heard of the form Kern for some reason until after I started using it as a user name online.

Seeing the name I actually expected you to be male. It sounds like name a black rapper would choose. Like Ladysmith.

My username is the same as the pseudonym I've used everywhere (real world and virtual) for a number of years. Storm was the name my Mom was going to name my younger brother because he was born in December - a stormy time of year. Ultimately, he was named something entirely different, but I loved the powerful sounding name when I was told that story.
So, when I also realized that there was another individual of the same name as my given name (first and last), who was graduating the same year as I (although at the rival high school), in a small town in Idaho, I thought, "Although I'm proud of my name and who I am, it's too common for an Artist". And "Storm" was adopted.
Now, it has become synonymous with me and my work, it's easy for others to remember (especially when referring me as an Artist), and certainly not common.
I should note, however, if I ever publish anything outside of my visual works, I will absolutely use my full given name with "Storm" incorporated in the middle.

Mine was given to me by a Native American shaman after a ritual I assisted in the construction of. After a strange (possibly psychadelic) experiance he explained to me what he believed he'd seen in the ritual, and told me I was a spirit meant to guide others. Valtiel - Guide/valet of God.
Mine comes from the last name of a Prof. of Religious Studies at UNC- Chapel Hill. He has authored numerous books regarding issues of historical and scriptural problems that plague Christianity. I enjoy his work immensely.

My user name is fairly obvious: Judas Iscariot was the disciple who betrayed Jesus. As I was a Christian in a 'past life', my "satanic" persona is a clear betrayal of the Christian lie I used to live, so I felt it was fitting.
I'm also intrigued by the paradox of Judas Iscariot and his condemnation which I won't go into here. Anyone want to pick my brain on it, PM me.
