I saw him a couple years ago. This was actually my very first concert, and what a blast to see him. He was 62 at the time I think, and he can put on an amazing show. I'm looking forward to Welcome to My Nightmare Part 2 coming out.

I have a long standing tradition of listening to the album "Witchcraft Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls" by Coven on Halloween or birthdays or other such "holy days"; It gives me a very strong magical sensation. I've prohibited myself from playing it on any less important occasion (I think LaVey talked about this trick in one of his books).

Coven - Black Sabbath
Coven - Dignitaries from hell

There's also this gem - similar to Coven:
Black Widow - In Ancient Days
Black Widow - Attack of the Demon

I bought the deluxe CD re-issue that has the full artwork, lyric sheet, etc. To me it's an aesthetically great package, even aside from the music. I'm going to have to dig that out.

On a related note, I've seen so many people spread the delusion that Black Sabbath was the first and only rock band who made use of devilish themes and occult trappings. History of course proves otherwise. Hell, even if we just look at that same time period of 1968-1970 or so, there was almost an occult genre of sorts going on with Coven, Black Widow, White Witch, Lucifer's Friend, Pentagram, etc. Even bands like the Rolling Stones and Deep Purple had dabbled in the themes by '68.

Not reading or listening material but a few movies I like to watch on or near Samhain/All Hallows Eve/Halloween are Satan's Little Helper 2004, Trick r Treat 2007 and Sleepy Hollow 1999 among others.

I posted links to the movies for those who would like to watch them online.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by, Washington Irving. One of the earliest examples of American fiction that continues to frighten today.
