As someone who is himself brand new to this site, I don't understand why you feel the need to welcome everyone to the site or thank them for checking the board out.

I'm new as well, and I think it is rather important (at least to me) that newcomers welcome one another, share insights with eachother, and communicate via PM. You must understand that all this, especially if it's a complete change of philosophy, can be quite intimidating. Especially when people who have been around a while are less than welcoming. I think he was just trying to be friendly. Try it sometime.

Also, to point out the glaringly obvious, I don't see why you care what he or anyone else posts, does it make you feel dominant to belittle newcomers? How 7th grade. Not to step on your toes, Priestess.
