Thank you for reading, i have a curious question which has arisen by observing members of the CoS regarding atheism.

I do notice members feel strongly toward discouraging any mystical beliefs or theistic Satanism. I understand the tenants and have read the bible quite thoroughly yet i also have heard Anton Lavey speak of members choosing to view Satan in a very real way.

Anton Lavey described that this was not discouraged as this provided 'in his words' a well wrought picture of their tutelary divinity or mentor, and that this was important to conceptualise ritualistically.

So Anton Lavey appeared to not discourage the mystically inclined and yet i notice this now is strongly discouraged? Perhaps there is reason lets say a more theistic approach is discouraged?

You seem to have followed the events well enough though I think you are a bit off conceptually with regard to the reasons offered.

Why do you ask?
