I've been struggling with this one for a while now, so I'm finally "biting the bullet" and asking someone.

What IS solipsism, within the context of Satanism?

I looked up the definition. According to Google, solipsism is

Quote:
the view or theory that the self is all that can be known to exist.

and I've looked into it further, but I can't see why Doktor LaVey is saying

Quote:
Projecting your reactions, responses and sensibilities onto someone who is probably far less attuned than you are

Does solipsism for a Satanist just mean seeing what one wants to see (projections of the self), rather than what's actually there?

Meaning: if someone is being a jerk to me, is solipsism ignoring the "jerkness" and seeing ONLY what I want to see?

Essentially, it is making the mistake of believing other people think and react to stimuli the same way that you do.

Projecting your own sensibilities onto them.

OH!

That makes perfect sense.

Thank you, Reverend.
