The famous Italian presenter Pippo Baudo was interviewed by the newspaper La Stampa (Photo from La Stampa.) in his house in the hills in Minitello, near Catania, where he has acres of oranges that he cultivates like an expert farmer. He is a legend of the Italian national television RAI where he started in 1960, and was a constant presence in the most followed TV shows till recent times.
Few months later he had a quarrel with the management of RAI and he was fired.
“It was inevitable, believe me. With the director manager Cattaneo and with the director of Raiuno Del Noce I never succeeded in having a good relationship. Now, I realize I am an unmanageable personality, as they are used to say nowadays. I do not do what they ask me. And however, at my age, with my past, what remains to me unless the autonomy, the awareness that I know how to work and that if I work I must do it as I say? If this is impossible, it is better to go away. On holidays for now.”
Good luck, Pippo, for a personality like you the dignity is a must!
With his popularity, he can go wherever he wants if, of course, they can afford his honorary.
