The recent death of Johnny Ramone and other posts regarding the passing of various people who are of interest to LttD posters got me thinking.
What do you think of an obituaries forum, where we could talk about those people we admire who depart this mortal coil?

Yes.Personally, I think it a great idea and I would like to participate in an obituaries forum.

Well, it might be a quiet forum at times but I have noticed that people often post about their personal "fallen heroes."

I like this idea. The "spirit" of life lives on only in the bones and minds of others. I personally can name a few decreased de facto Satanists who could be lauded in this section.

It could also be a news forum, since members often post news stories that have to go in the general section...

That has been discussed before - and as Magister Ventrue has pointed out - that is what the general forums are for.
I was talking about a specific "obituaries" forum where the worthy dead could be honoured.
"News" can already be posted in one of the relevant forums of corresponding subject matter. It would just clog up the obituaries, I think.

>>I also think that to have a section created only for that purpose wouldn't be used as such, it would become more of a mournful palace than anything else, I can foresee every single death of every person who was once on the cover of a magazine being mourned over by thirds who don't even half-know them or their work.<<
Have you seen all the "dead hero" posts around here lately.
It seems appropriate to have a specific forum for them. People regularly post rememberences but I doubt that anyone would post for the sake of it about people they know little of, nor particularly care about.

I know I wouldn't and you wouldn't, but they would. If Magister Ventrue creates a section like that, watch & see.

I haven't seen much of that in the member's section.
And in the kennel, if idiots are going to post they post anyway, in any forum.
