When I enter a thread that has unread posts, it does not send me to the unread post. Instead it puts me on the first post of the first page every time.

Which is by design. I removed that feature as most people (including myself) found it extremely annoying. I like to review the main post before reading the replies as it may have been a week since I read the thread and forgot what it was about.

If you are reading the board in Flat Mode, there is an Arrow at the top that you can press that will bring you to the newest reply.
