Author/Musician JOEL GAUSTEN Invades “Metal Invaders” Podcast; Audio Available


Author and veteran drummer Joel Gausten (Pigface / Effectionhate / Electric Frankenstein) is the special guest on the latest installment of the “Metal Invaders” podcast on Radio Free Satan (http://www.radiofreesatan.com). During the special 90-minute episode, show host Sonny Bellavance welcomes Gausten for a discussion of his latest book, “From Satan to Sabbath: The METAL Interviews 2000-2009,” as well as his extensive music career. Additionally, Gausten is invited to select the episode’s playlist, which includes tracks by Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Effectionhate, Pigface, Napalm Death, Non-Fiction, The Plasmatics, Prong, Celtic Frost and Benediction.

Gausten’s 192-page book “From Satan to Sabbath” includes the complete text of his out-of-print book “The SABBATH Interviews,” selections from his books “Prong: The Early Years” and “Pandemonium: Inside Killing Joke,” cover art by Shannon Gardner-Gausten and previously unpublished, full-length interviews with past/present members of Aerosmith, Plasmatics, Celtic Frost, Opeth, Thin Lizzy, Bolt Thrower, Benediction, Hades, Watchtower and Napalm Death.

Both Gausten and Bellavance will be featured on the upcoming debut album by Effectionhate, an electronic music project created by artist and multi-instrumentalist Shannon Gardner-Gausten in 2007. Experimental in nature, Effectionhate's music ranges from techno to classical to atonal industrial noise, with the project's evolving list of contributors ensuring that no two compositions are alike. The album will also include an appearance by drummer Martin Atkins (Pigface, Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, Public Image Limited).
