THE SATANIC NETWORK
Satannet is a private social network where Satanists can speak freely, share their work and find their own kind.
Satannet is a social network made for Satanists and for people with a serious interest in Satanism. It brings together members of the Church of Satan and independent Satanists who share the same philosophy.
Here you have a profile, a feed, photo albums, videos, events and private messages, the same tools you would expect anywhere else. The difference is who you share them with. On Satannet nobody asks you to explain or soften what you believe, and nobody outside is watching.
On Satannet, Satanism means the philosophy Anton LaVey founded with the Church of Satan in 1966 and set down in The Satanic Bible in 1969. It is an atheistic philosophy. Satan is a symbol of pride, carnality and the individual who answers to no god, not a being to be prayed to or worshipped. The Church of Satan's positions are the foundation this community is built on.
That means Satannet is not the place for devil worship or theistic Satanism, and it is not a home for groups that define Satanism differently, such as The Satanic Temple. People are free to believe what they like elsewhere, but those views do not align with ours, and building a home here around them would only lead to endless infighting. If that is what you are looking for, this is not the community for you.
Satannet is an independent community. It follows the philosophy of the Church of Satan, but it is not run by the Church and does not speak for it.
Satannet was created and is run by Magister Frost, who has been building online homes for Satanists since 1995. It started as Satan's PlayGround BBS, a dial up bulletin board, and in 2001 it grew into the Letters to the Devil (LttD) Forums, a community he kept running for nearly two decades.
Satannet is the next chapter of that work: a modern network with the same purpose, a place where Satanists can gather on their own terms. He is a member here like everyone else, and you will find him in the feed, in the forums and behind the Daily Thought.
It begins as Satan's PlayGround BBS, a bulletin board where Satanists dialed in to talk, trade files and find one another.
Satan's PlayGround evolves into the Letters to the Devil Forums, opened in July 2001 and one of the first lasting meeting places for Satanists online. Members talk books, music, film, art, essays, poetry, politics and the practice of Satanism itself.
For seventeen years the forums grow into a library of conversation, written by thousands of members from around the world.
The last posts are written in December 2018 and the forums fall quiet, but the archive is kept safe.
The Satanic Network opens as a full social network, with member profiles, a shared feed, photo albums, events, contests and the Mark of the Beast membership card.
Satannet becomes members only: profiles, posts and photos can be seen only by signed in members. The LttD archive is returning as part of Satannet, readable by members.
